Hartford Campus Colleagues,
I’m writing to inform you that Office 2016 will be installed to all (West) Hartford Campus faculty / staff Windows computers beginning December 21.
Office 2016 updates are scheduled to begin on December 21 at midnight, and will be remotely installed to machines over the network across the campus. Earlier in the year we upgraded all teaching lecterns, public kiosk machines, conference/meeting rooms, and computer classrooms with the same update, and are now focusing on faculty / staff machines to bring the campus up to one standard prior to the calendar year. Originally we communicated that this would start in the Spring, but needed to move the time table up a bit to accommodate busy Spring schedules. Hartford ITS technicians will verify installations remotely, as well as in person where applicable, to ensure the smoothest transition possible.
Office 2016 provides a refreshed look and feel as is typical to Microsoft Office upgrades, and maintains a similar look and feel to Office 2013 which most of you are utilizing now. Some features include integration enhancements with Office 365, collaboration improvements across all Office programs, and Prezi like animation and motions within PowerPoint.
Office 2016 is available for you to download and use on University computers here (Bottom of page) if you wish to do so ahead of time.
